Why are GM foods grown?

Farmers grow GMO's because they can produce a bigger yield from them. There are lots of different way the can produce this yield.

• Some GMO's are altered so that they produce no fungi.
• Some can produce food all year round. The fruit or vegetable is always in season.
• Some create big foods.
• Some make it so that they look good. They would have perfect shape, size and colour.
• Some can repel insects that will eat it.
• Some might make a different food by altering the seeds.
• They are all grown for financial reasons. They can be mass produced to make more money.

There are also may more but those are the main ones. When all these come together the farmers get more money so that is the main reason.
