It's a good question. And I'm about to answer it. ☻
Also known as GMO's, Genetically Modified Food is crops that have been messed about with to make them bigger, immune to fungi and insects and in season all year. The plants get modified in a laboratory to make products more appealing to consumers. Plants used to be crossbred to create these traits in foods but that was very time consuming and didn't always work right. With genetic engineering (messing with food in a lab) can get rid of one trait that farmers do not want in their food to have (stuff like attracting insects that will eat them) and add another from a different food or bacteria to make it good (they could add something that made the food humongous!!!)
Some people like GMO's because they might taste better (or not) look nicer and they won't of been nibbled by butterflies and stuff.
Although other people are against it because of the chemicals that were used. They could be harmful. Also they believe it is messing with nature.

I guess it's a bit like the evil stepmother in snow white. Messing with food so it does something diffrent that usual. Only she knew it was BAD!!!!
